Here are five outstanding organizations in the Merrimack area. Please consider volunteering or donating to them for Giving Tuesday and beyond.
- Meals on Wheels of Hillsborough County — Meals on Wheels of Hillsborough County aims to create connection and enrich the lives of older and homebound adults through nutrition, social engagement and community services. They serve delicious and nutritious meals at numerous nutrition sites throughout the county, and volunteers deliver Meals on Wheels and friendly visits to older, homebound and disabled adults. - Bridges — Bridges provides crisis intervention, support and advocacy services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. They also provide educational programs on topics of violence, including domestic violence training for police officers, dating violence prevention for high-school students and sexual harassment in-services for local business people. - Harbor Care — Harbor Care creates and provides quality residential and supportive services for individuals and their families who are challenged by mental illness or homelessness in the Greater Nashua Area. - Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter — The Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter provides services for the area’s poor and homeless individuals and families. - Light of Life — This faith-focused organization has multiple programs that address the needs of women in crisis due to sexual exploitation, substance use disorder, homelessness, interpersonal violence and other traumas.
