On Sept. 10, NH Democratic voters will make their choice on who will be their candidate for governor. I'm supporting Joyce Craig and this is why.
Joyce Craig is the only Democrat running for governor who has the executive experience of managing multi-million dollar budgets, overseeing multiple municipal departments along with hundreds of employees, and negotiating union contracts. The results show with a higher quality of life earning Manchester a ranking as one of the best places to live by US News and World Report in 2022-3.
Her opponents misrepresent Joyce's accomplishments by claiming the violent crime rate rose (no, it decreased by 38%, page 37 of the Manchester Police Dept. annual report). When they attack her on the city's homelessness, they fail to mention that Manchester is the largest city in NH that offers the most services to homeless people. So, of course, Manchester attracts people from all over NH who need support. Because of this, homelessness a state problem that needs state intervention, like making housing more affordable, addressing mental health needs, fighting substance abuse and ensuring a livable wage for all Granite Staters. Joyce is committed to tackling this problem and I know she will, because she is smart, collaborative, and focused on solutions.
