- As of January 1, 2025, the NH Interest and Dividends Tax has been eliminated. Here is a video I recorded explaining the subject during the 2022 campaign trail. NOTE: The elimination date was moved up in the '24-'25 state budget FROM December 31, 2026 TO December 31, 2024. Video date: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSNrSQ7zvSc&ab_channel=MaureenMooney
- On January 9, 2025 at noon, Kelly Ayotte was sworn-in as the state’s 83rd Governor. Congratulations to Gov. Ayotte! We look forward to working with her on challenging issues. Also, a very special thank you to Gov. Chris Sununu. He will be missed.
- As the new legislative session begins, a few changes have been made regarding House committees. There is now a House Housing Committee. Its charge is to consider subjects relating to housing; condominiums; landlord/tenant rights; residential zoning and planning; and such other matters as may be referred to it. Additionally, the House Education Committee has been split into two committees – Committee on Education Policy and Administration and Committee on Education Funding. Here are the descriptions:
- House Committee on Education Policy and Administration – to consider subjects relating to the regulation, organization, and administration of local school districts and schools, including support services learning opportunities, and pupils; and such other matters as may be referred to it.
- House Committee on Education Funding – to consider subjects relating to the funding of schools and educational programs, including the administration of higher and career technical education; special education aid costing and adequacy formulas; and such others matters as may be referred to it.
