Manchester Man Identified as Driver in Fatal Crash

Merrimack Police say Juan Lerma Estrada, 36, of Manchester was heading home from a remodeling job in town before Saturday's fatal crash.

A Manchester man was headed home from a construction job site in town on Saturday before he crashed his car into a tree on Baboosic Lake Road and later died from his injuries, according to Merrimack Police.

Juan Lerma Estrada, 36 of Prescott Street in Manchester was identified as the man who was killed in the single car crash. Merrimack Police Lt. Dean Killkelley said the investigation shows that speed was a factor. He also said that Estrada did not appear to be wearing his seat belt and that the 1999 Audi 6's airbags successfully deployed upon impact.

Police say that Estrada was traveling south on Baboosic Lake Road near the Bambi Trail, which is a 30 mile per hour zone, when his car left the roadway and crashed into a tree around 1:30 p.m. Estrada was transported to Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center in Nashua, but later died from his injuries.

“The roads were bare. There was no ice. It just appears that he was going too fast for the roadway.”

Killkelley said the investigation is ongoing and police are still interviewing some co-workers at the job site in Merrimack where he had left “to try and get a good picture of what was going on in his life.”

Killkelley said Estrada was doing a home remodeling job in Merrimack at time of the crash. Toxicology test results haven’t come back yet from the State Crime Lab, he added.
