Manchester Woman Charged with Disobeying Police Officer

Samira Mehenedovic of Manchester allegedly tried to tell police she was her twin sister after she was pulled over for speeding on Bedford Road.

A Manchester woman who tried to tell Merrimack Police that she was really her twin sister after she was pulled over for speeding was arrested on Thursday.

Samira Mehenedovic, 23, of 1436 Elm St. was traveling on Bedford Road when Merrimack Police Officer Dan Lindbom pulled her over for a speeding violation, according to a press release issued by Merrimack Police Capt. Peter Albert.

Mehenedovic originally gave the name of her twin sister to the police officer, but upon further questioning about some previous motor vehicle contacts, police found that her story did not match. 

Mehenedovic later later produced some identification and after doing a license check police found her license came back as being suspended.

Mehenedovic was then was arrested and charged with driving after revocation or suspension and with disobeying an officer. She was later released on $ 1,500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court in Merrimack on Feb. 11.
