Merrimack Crash Led To Man Being Accused Of Intent To Distribute Drugs
Thomas Bemis, 35, of Merrimack, is accused of OUIL, falsifying evidence, and possession of drugs after the crash at Bedford and DW Highway.

MERRIMACK, NH - A two-vehicle crash on Bedford Road in Merrimack resulted in a Merrimack man being taken into custody by Merrimack Police.
Merrimack Fire, EMS, and police responded to Bedford Road and Daniel Webster Highway for a report of the accident with people injured Thursday at about 7:58 p.m.
Police say they arrived at the scene and began speaking to Thomas Bemis, 35, of Merrimack. Officers speaking with Bemis “observed signs of impairment.”

After the officer concluded his investigation, which included roadside field sobriety tests, Bemis was taken into custody for operating under the influence. During the investigation, officers also located a large quantity of a controlled drug located near the vehicle in which Bemis was operating.
Merrimack Police say Bemis is accused of a violation level offense of Open Container, misdemeanor offense of operating under the Influence (Liquor), and felony offenses of falsifying physical evidence and possession of a controlled drug with intent to sell.

Bemis was transported to Merrimack Police Station, where he was processed and released on personal recognizance bail.
No information was provided by police on the injuries to the other operator involved in the crash.
He is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Merrimack District Court on October 8, 2024, to answer the charges.
