Merrimack Firefighters Quickly Knock Down Fire On Edgewood Avenue

Crews arrived with fire showing from the outside of the building near the electrical service; quick actions prevented it from spreading.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack Fire Rescue and police responded to a report of a structure fire on Edgewood Ave Sunday evening.

While en route, responders were updated that the fire was on the outside of the building. Firefighters arrived and had fire on the side of the house where the electrical line enters the house from the utility pole. Crews quickly knocked down the visible fire and, using thermal imaging cameras, checked for hot spots in the partition, while other firefighters checked inside the home.

The area where the fire was, appeared to have the electrical service from the street and an electrical box which was feeding solar panels on the roof. Eversource was notified and responded to the scene because the fire was electrical, and the power line from the street had dropped a significant distance.
