Merrimack High School Top 10: Dave Sharma, No. 1

The Valedictorian of the Class of 2025 congratulates all of his fellow graduates. He will study neuroscience at Dartmouth College.

MERRIMACK, NH — Dave Sharma is honored to be the Valedictorian of the Class of 2025.

He would like to express gratitude to his family, friends, teachers, and community for their extensive support throughout his life and their immeasurable contributions in shaping who he is today.

Throughout high school, Dave took on a rigorous course load consisting of 9 AP classes and 10 Honors classes. His favorite classes consisted of AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, AP Physics I, and AP Spanish.

In addition to his academic interests, Dave has a strong passion for music. He has participated in the MHS band for four years, and placed principal 3 times on the baritone saxophone for the NHMEA All State Music Festival. Furthermore, Dave had the privilege of playing with the New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra three times throughout high school alongside countless incredible musicians.

In school, Dave was involved in various clubs and sports. He was the president of the National Honor Society, a captain of the Science Olympiad team, and a captain of the Merrimack varsity soccer team.

While outside the classroom, Dave was a community leader. As a director of the New Hampshire Nepali Youth Network, he led fundraising events within the community to donate to various organizations in Nepal, raising thousands of dollars over the course of high school. Dave’s passions for community service also extended to education, as he taught ESL classes to students around the world through the International Institute of New England.

In the fall, Dave will attend Dartmouth College to study neuroscience. He would like to congratulate all of his fellow graduates and wish them the best in their future endeavors.
