Kaitlyn Newton, Merrimack High School's 2023 salutatorian, thanks her family and teachers for their support throughout her academic journey.

MERRIMACK, NH — Kaitlyn Newton is honored to be named Merrimack High School’s Class of 2023 salutatorian. She wants to thank her parents, her brother, the rest of her family, and her teachers for their support throughout her academic journey.
Throughout high school, Kaitlyn has excelled in all of her classes, some of her favorites including Algebra II and AP Calculus. She was awarded for academic excellence in French and Algebra II in her sophomore year and for French in her junior year. Kaitlyn looks forward to continuing her education in math as a Data Science major at the University of New Hampshire.
Outside of school, Kaitlyn dedicates a vast majority of her time to her career as a figure skater. In both of the past two years, she has won the state title with the Southern NH Regional High School team, this past year leading the team as a co-captain.

In her freshman year, she competed in New England Regionals and brought home a second-place medal. In addition to skating, Kaitlyn loves to spend her spare time reading and participating in the Quiz Bowl team at the high school. She also participates in National Math Honor Society and Badminton Club.
Kaitlyn would like to say how proud she is of all her classmates and friends, and she wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
