Merrimack High School Top 10: Kishan Sreenivasan, No. 1

MERRIMACK, NH — Kishan Sreenivasan is honored and grateful to be the Valedictorian of the Class of 2024.

He would like to express his sincere gratitude to his family, friends, teachers, and other community members who have supported him throughout his journey.

Kishan's academic journey was marked by his passion for continuous learning, taking 10 AP classes in high school. His favorite courses were AP Computer Science, AP US History, American Studies, AP Chemistry, AP Physics 1 & 2, AP Calculus, and AP Language and Composition. His dedication and hard work have been recognized with the prestigious titles of AP Scholar with Distinction and National Merit Scholarship Winner.

High school was a platform for Kishan to showcase his versatility and leadership skills. He enjoyed various sports and extracurricular activities, including Cross Country, Granite State Challenge, Quiz Bowl, Model United Nations, Science Olympiad, Math Team, and Student Council. His leadership roles, such as Math National Honor Society President, Cross Country Captain, Granite State Challenge Captain, Model United Nations Vice President and Treasurer, Science Olympiad Captain, Class of 2024 Secretary, and Student Body Treasurer, are a testament to his ability to inspire and motivate others. He has been named the Best Delegate in six Model United Nation conferences and has won back-to-back Granite State Challenge Championships as well as a Quiz Bowl State Championship.

As an Eagle Scout, Kishan loved participating in overnight adventures with his fellow scouts. With the help of his troop members, Kishan successfully built an ADA-compliant accessible ramp for the summer camp nurse's office at Wasserman Park for his Eagle Scout project.

Kishan absolutely cherished the moments he spent with his friends, and he would like to give each one of them a huge shoutout. This fall, Kishan is excited to study computer science at Dartmouth College.
