Merrimack Reveals Lineup Of Fall Recreation Programs
Archery, blacksmithing, wilderness first aid, art and more are being offered this fall by Merrimack Parks & Recreation.
MERRIMACK, NH — From archery, blacksmithing and creative dance, Merrimack Parks & Recreation is offering new programs for the fall season. Here's the breakdown of what recreation activities are in store for this fall.
- Archery with Coacy Lucy — Pull back a string and let go of stress and feel the satisfaction of the sound of the arrow hitting the target. Let the challenges of the day melt away with this ancient sport. Tuesdays, Sept. 17 through Oct. 19, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. For ages 8 and up. $60 for residents, $65 for non-residents.
- Basic Blacksmithing Fundementals — This beginner class for adolescents and older teaches all you need to know about basic forging. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Greenfield Forge Blacksmithing Shop, 37 Wilton Road, Milford. Cost is $75.
- Toddler Tumble — This class teaches skills that will be useful in any dance style or sport. Focus is on strength and flexibility, while building balance and body awareness. Wednesdays, Sept. 18 through Oct. 30, 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. For ages 3 to 5. $45 for residents, $50 for non-residents.
- Toddler Creative Dance — These classes introduce a structured environment where children recognize their own individuality and body mobility. Focus on coordination and rhythm, while learning beginner dance skills. Wednesdays, Sept. 18 through Oct. 30, 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. For ages 3 to 5. $45 for residents, $50 for non-residents.
- Mini Artists: Session 1 — A short class introducing arts and crafts to the tiniest artists. Mondays, Sept. 23 through Nov. 4, 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. For ages 1 to 2. $50 for residents, $55 for non-residents.
- Music for Little Mozarts — The children will learn basic musical concepts by using various musical instruments, as well as rhythm, movement and singing. Tuesdays, Sept. 24 through Oct. 29, 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. For ages 4 to 5. $55 for residents, $60 for non-residents.
- After-School Art: Session 1 — Some fun crafting time with friends. Experiment with clay, duct tape, beads, pastels and more. Thursdays, Sept. 26 through Oct. 24, 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. For ages 6 to 12. $60 for residents, $65 for non-residents.
- Wilderness First Aid Training — The course will focus on response and assessment, various injuries, environmental emergencies, survival skills, medical emergencies and more. Participants have opportunity to earn a two-year certification. Saturday, Oct. 5 through Sunday, Oct. 6, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. $160 per person.
