Merrimack Woman Charged With DWI Twice in 3 Days
Geraldine Deangelis was held on $10,000 cash bail after second arrest in same week.

A Merrimack woman arrested on Dec. 17 for drunken driving during an afternoon snowstorm was arrested again on Dec. 20 on similar charges – but this time she was held on $10,000 cash bail, pending arraignment on Dec. 23.
Geraldine Deangelis, 65, of 2 Echo Shore Drive, Merrimack, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 20, charged with driving while intoxicated, operating as a habitual offender, operating after suspension – a subsequent offense, operating without proof of financial responsibility, open container violation and breach of bail conditions.
Police say they were called at 8:05 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, by a motorist who was concerned by a woman operating a 2005 Chevy Malibu that they witnessed back into a snowbank at a local convenience store before exiting onto Amherst Road and driving on the wrong side of the road.
The caller followed the vehicle where they saw the vehicle turn onto Turkey Hill road, again driving on the wrong side of the road, then onto Summit Road where the driver struck several snow banks, police say.
Merrimack Police subsequently came in contact with the Malibu, stopping it on Echo Shore Drive and identifying the driver as Deangelis. According to a press release from the Merrimack Police Department the officer detected a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath as well as signs of impairment. Following a brief investigation that included field sobriety tests she was arrested and transported to the Merrimack Police Department.
Deangelis was out on bail for nearly identical charges from just three days earlier when her car was found in a snowbank on Summit Road after police were called for a woman operating erratically, nearly sideswiping other vehicles, during an afternoon snowstorm.
She was released on Dec. 17 on $5,000 personal recognizance bail and was scheduled for arraignment on Dec. 19, just a day before her second arrest of the week.
Deangelis was placed on $10,000 cash bail. She was unable to make bail and was transported to the Hillsborough County House of Correction pending her arraignment before the Ninth Circuit Court in Merrimack on Monday, Dec. 23.
