Airport Access Road Reopened

Merrimack Police cannot say how long the Manchester-Boston Regional Access Road ramp will be closed.

UPDATED: 3:30 p.m.: The Airport Access road ramp off the F.E. Everett Turnpike was reopened on Friday after a tractor-trailer truck that had overturned was removed.

According to Bill Boynton, a spokesman with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, it took more than two hours to remove the truck after State Police first reported that it overturned before 7:30 p.m. In an e-mail that Boynton forwarded from Frank Lowe of the state agency's Transportation Management Center, the truck caused some damaged. The access ramp was reopened at 9:44 a.m.

Earlier story: The Airport Access Road on ramp from the Daniel Webster Highway has been shut down on Friday morning because of an overturned dump truck, according to Merrimack Police.

Police issued a Nixle alert on Friday morning about the accident and could not say when the dump truck would be removed or when the access road ramp would be reopened to allow traffic to travel to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.

"It is unknown as to how long the ramp will be closed while emergency vehicles remove the truck," the Merrimack Police traffic alert message reads.
