Stone and Tile Outlet Store Coming to Merrimack

A Connecticut-based stone and tile import company will soon set up a new showroom in Merrimack after they obtained Planning Board approval this month.

According to Merrimack Planning Board documents, Galleria Stone & Tile received unanimous approval on Jan. 7 to create a new showroom and outlet store on 714 Daniel Webster Highway at the site of former automotive sales and used car dealership.

Galleria Stone & Tile is based in Middletown, Conn., and imports engineered stone, ModaCrete, natural stone slabs and natural stone tile used to create beautiful bathrooms, livingrooms, fireplaces, floors for many residential and commercial projects.

Bill Smethurst of New Hampshire Tile Distributors in Pembroke represented the company at the Planning Board meeting.

On Thursday, Smethurst said they hope to open the new store in March or April and it will employee three people. "We will have a 3,000 square feet area dedicated to outlet bargain shopping of Tile & Stone as well as a beautiful showroom of Tile & Stone with vignette displays of about 4,000 square feet and a warehouse full of supplies," he wrote in an email.
