When Does Town Election Filing Period Begin?

Believe it or not, the filing period for the April 8 Town Election is coming up in just a few weeks.

According to Merrimack Town Clerk and Tax Collector Diane Trippett, the filing period runs from Wednesday, Feb. 19 to Friday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. Here are the offices that will be decided in April:

Two Town Councilors for 3 years.

Two Library Trustee for 3 years

One Trustee of the Trust Funds for 3 years

One Moderator for 2 years

One Supervisor of the Checklist for 6 years

In an e-mail, Trippett wrote, "Candidates must file with the Town Clerk to have their name placed on the ballot and must be a registered voter. Candidates for Town Council must also have been domiciled in Merrimack for at least one year."
