When is Merrimack's Winter Carnival?

EDITOR'S NOTE: The 22nd Annual Winter Carnival at Wasserman Park will be held on Feb. 22 and the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department promises to offer families all kinds of winter fun.

Here is a press release submitted by Kelli Valluzzi, the parks and recreation department director, that provides more details about the event.

Planning is underway for the 22nd Annual Winter Carnival at Wasserman Park. The Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department and the Parks and Recreation Committee are proud to host this event scheduled for Saturday, February 22nd from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Enjoy a day of FREE family activities including snowman building, snow art, arts and crafts, Ice Fishing Derby sponsored by the Merrimack Lions Club and lots of outdoor winter fun!

Inside the Function Hall, local non-profit organizations will offer a variety of delicious snacks and refreshments with proceeds benefiting their organization.

Local businesses, community groups, committees and organizations interested in taking part in this event are encouraged to contact the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department with information on the type of service or activity you would like to offer. Ideas in the past have included demonstrations, children’s games, face painting, concession tables, and raffles!
