Alert: Severe Thunderstorms Possible
The National Weather Service says there is a strong chance of severe thunderstorms and heavy rain this evening, with a chance of hail and lightning.
Severe thunderstorms are possible across southern New Hampshire until mid-evening, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued a special weather advisory.
The forecast calls for scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some strong thunderstorms until about 10 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service statement:
"The primary risk is for isolated strong to damaging straight line wind gusts with a secondary concern for hail with the strongest storms. In addition, the storms may also produce brief heavy rainfall and dangerous cloud to ground lightning. Those with outdoor plans late this afternoon and evening should be prepared to seek indoor shelter quickly if threatening weather approaches."
