Are Top Educators Paid Too Much in Nashua?

Nashua School Board recently took up the issue of administrator salaries.

A debate among School Board members over the pay rate for top school officials is well reported in the Nashua Telegraph, by reporter Danielle Curtis.

According to her story, Nashua School Superintendent Mark Conrad made the point that a statewide salary survey conducted a few years ago showed Nashua’s administrator salaries rank in the mid- to low-range.
Some school board members would like to reevaluate the process of setting salaries.

The Telegraph reports the average teacher salary in Nashua is slightly higher than the state average of $54,314, while teachers in Litchfield, Hudson and Merrimack earn slightly less.

In Manchester, a city which comes closest in demographics to Nashua, teachers earn more than $4,000 more, at $59,019.
