Burglars on Spree Caught in the Act in South Nashua

Police have arrested two men believed responsible for a number of burglaries in a concentrated area of South Nashua. 

Justin Spencer, 26, of 48 Chestnut St., Nashua, and Joseph Fenton, 18, of 2 Nevada Street, Nashua, were arrested Dec. 5 after a woman called police for a burglary in progress. The two were arrested a short time later. They are charged with:  burglary, class A felony (2 counts); theft by unauthorized taking, class A felony; Burglary, class B felony (4 counts) and attempted burglary, class B felony.      

Police responded to a call just after 2 p.m. for a report of an  attempted burglary. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who reported that two males had just attempted to break into her residence. She was able to provide a good description for police, who made the arrest quickly.

The investigation was then furthered by detectives in the Nashua Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division Burglary Unit. As a result of the investigation, both Spencer and Fenton were charged with additional counts of Burglary. The occupied structures broken into between Nov. 25 and Dec. 5 were all residential and tracked back to the following streets: Haines Street, Bowers Street, McKean Street, Russell Avenue, South Main Street, and Farmington Road.

Electronic devices and jewelry were taken during the course of the burglaries. A number of those items were recovered as a result of this investigation.     

Each class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Each class B felony is punishable by up to 7 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Spencer refused bail, while Fenton’s bail was set at $50,000 cash, pending an arraignment at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court.
