CT Woman Tried To Illegally Take Out Cash From Nashua Banks: Police

NASHUA, NH — A West Haven, Connecticut woman was arrested Thursday and is accused of attempting to use a fictitious identification card to make withdrawals from three local banks, the Nashua Police Department said.

Tiffany Clark, 46, has been charged with three counts of identity fraud, a Class A felony, two counts of falsifying physical evidence, a Class B felony, two counts of manufacture, sale and possession of false identification, a Class A misdemeanor, and one count of receiving stolen property, a Class A misdemeanor, police said.

Authorities said Clark is being held at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections and her bail was set at $5,000. The suspect is due to be arraigned Friday at the Hillsborough County Superior Court-Southern District, according to police.

A Class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years in state prison, each Class B felony is punishable by up to seven years in state prison and each Class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in county jail.

According to police reports, at 3:28 p.m. Thursday, Nashua PD officers responded to Citizens Bank, located at 33 Coliseum Ave., after the report of fraud.

Police said a bank employee had contacted the Nashua PD to say that Clark had attempted to make a cash withdrawal using a fictitious ID card.

At the scene, officers located Clark in close proximity to the bank and placed her under arrest, the Nashua PD said.

Detectives from the Nashua PD's Criminal Investigation Division continued to investigate the case and learned that Clark allegedly had attempted to make two additional fraudulent cash withdrawals using fictitious ID cards earlier Thursday, the department said.

According to the Nashua PD, both previous attempts were at Citizen Bank branches in Nashua: the first attempt was at 277 Daniel Webster Hwy and the second was at 122 Northeastern Blvd.

Police said that all three attempts by the suspect to make fraudulent withdrawals using fictitious ID cards took place within a 35-minute period.

Additionally, police said that during Clark's booking, the Nashua PD learned that the suspect allegedly had concealed evidence related to the crime.
