Downtown Sidewalk Update for June 28

Another weekly progress report on the downtown sidewalks, as posted on the city website.

Weekly updates are posted on the city's official website, gonashua.com:

During the week of June 24, we were challenged by rain. We did install a light pole foundation and many lines of conduit. We began the planting of trees and plants. The brick work continued. The finish grade pavement and preparation for brick on the northbound side of the Main Street Bridge mid-block crosswalk was completed.

Due to the July 4 holiday, we only have three work days next week. We plan to form and pour the two tip downs for the crosswalk and the last concrete pad on the west side of Block 2. The brick work and plantings will continue. We plan to begin the brick work on the Main Street Bridge mid-block crosswalk. The Main Street Bridge crosswalk work will be done overnight to minimize impacts to traffic.

A sandwich board will be placed on the bridge on the day we plan to do the overnight work as additional notification. Green carpet will continue to be used to clearly indicate businesses are open. We hope to move to the East side of Block 2 during the week of July 8. We will do our best to limit the obstruction of parking and impacts to business. Unfortunately, it is necessary to take parking spaces where we are working. It looks like the current stretch of wet weather will continue into next week. This may impact our ability to adhere to our schedule. Please do not hesitate to contact Director Fauteux or Andy Patrician, Operations Manager on site or at 589-
3140 with any concerns.
