Lowell Man Accused Of Directing Conspirators To Rob A Mail Carrier In Nashua
Tyler Savinon was accused of directing co-conspirators to rob the mail carrier in April to obtain a key that would unlock collection boxes.
NASHUA, NH — An 18-year-old Lowell, Massachusetts, man is accused of aiding, abetting, counseling, commanding, inducing, and procuring the robbery of property of the United States in connection with the robbery of a Nashua letter carrier in April.
According to the charging documents, Tyler Savinon directed two co-conspirators, including one juvenile, to rob the mail carrier to obtain a proprietary key that would unlock blue mail collection boxes in the Nashua area.
Baraka Janvier, 18, of Lowell, MA, was arrested in April shortly after the robbery and was charged with robbery of property of the United States. At the time, the charging documents said that Janvier and a juvenile co-conspirator held the mail carrier at gunpoint and demanded his keys.

Investigators obtained valuable information, pictures, and video from concerned residents, which helped them identify the robbers and eventually led them to Savinon.
Investigators determined that Savinon had used the stolen key to access at least two collection boxes in Nashua—one on Dunstable Road and one on Spring Street. Some of the stolen mail was used in financial crimes, such as “check washing.”

Savinon and Janvier face up to 10 years in federal prison and up to a $250,000 fine.
The United States Postal Inspection Service led the investigation. Valuable assistance was provided by the Nashua, New Hampshire Police Department and the Lowell, Massachusetts Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jarad E. Hodes is prosecuting the case.
Savinon will appear in federal court in Concord Tuesday.
