Man Accused of Assaulting Woman, Faking Being a Stabbing Victim
Nashua Police said the man fabricated being the victim of a stabbing after a domestic dispute June 30.
The Nashua Police Department arrested a man June 30 on charges he assaulted a woman by allegedly punching her in the face and "causing lacerations to her torso with a knife."
Police said that Eder Chaves, 31, was charged with second-degree assault/domestic violence, simple assault/domestic violence, and false report to law enforcement after officers responded to a residence for a 911 hang-up call.
Officers said Chaves reported he had been stabbed in his leg during a domestic dispute. He was treated at a local hospital and released.
Investigators later determined that Chaves fabricated being the victim of a stabbing, and that he punched the woman and caused "lacerations to her torso with a knife," according to police.
Chaves was being held on $10,000 cash bail and he was scheduled to be arraigned July 1.
