Man Faces 11 Charges Including Sex Assault, False Imprisonment, of Child

Police say Samuel Mortimer locked the victim in a room where he assaulted her, and wouldn't let her leave.

Samuel Mortimer, age 22, of 24 Tilton Street, Nashua, was arrested Jan. 9, charged with one count of felonious sexual assault, a Class B Felony; nine counts of simple assault; one count of false imprisonment, class A misdemeanors.

On January 3, 2014, members of the Special Investigations Division received a report of a sexual assault that had occurred on December 30, 2013. The complaint alleged that Mortimer had sexually assaulted a juvenile female under the age of 13, who is known to him at a residence in Nashua. A subsequent investigation revealed that Mortimer was the person responsible for the sexual assault and numerous instances of unprivileged inappropriate physical contact/ touching. He was also charged for reportedly locking the victim in a room where the assaults occurred and not allowing her to leave. There were no injuries reported for any of the incidents.

A Class B Felony is punishable by up to 7 years in State Prison, exclusive of fines.

Each Class A Misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections, exclusive of fines. Mortimer is being held at the Nashua Police Department on $50,000 cash or surety bail, pending his arraignment on January 10th, 2014 in the 9th Circuit-Nashua District Division Court.
