Man Seriously Injured In Shooting In Sullivan Park In Nashua

A 42-year-old man was shot in the pelvis Wednesday night and was rushed to the hospital from the area of Marshall and Bowers Streets.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua Police are investigating a shooting that left a 42-year-old man seriously injured Wednesday night in a city park at Marshall and Bowers Streets.

Police, fire, and AMR responded to the area for a report just before midnight for someone who had been shot. The victim was immediately given treatment by Nashua Police and rushed to the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. Sources indicate the man suffered a gunshot to the leg and had serious bleeding.

Nashua police had Sullivan Park completely cordoned off with crime scene tape, and detectives were processing the scene Thursday morning. Detectives could be seen photographing and examining evidence markers on a basketball court, and shell casings appeared on the ground.

At another location closer to the Bower Street side of the park, the clothing that appeared to be from the victim was being documented and gathered by detectives.

One person who lives in the area said he heard arguing and then a series of seven or eight shots; shortly after, he saw police and fire responding to the area.

The man has what appears to be non-life-threatening injuries and is in serious but stable condition. NPD Sgt John Cinelli said the man was shot once in the pelvis.

Multiple people were at the scene when the incident occurred and detectives are actively interviewing those involved.

A firearm was recovered at the scene of the shooting, and police also gathered several 9 mm casings.

This appears to be an isolated incident, and the people involved appear to know each other, according to police.

At this time, Nashua Police do not believe there is a danger to the public.
