Mass. Man Facing Multiple Charges in Heinous Bedford Home Invasion
Authorities say Charles Normil stabbed Bedford doctor multiple times in the head with a screwdriver and sexually and physically assaulted his wife on Nov. 24, 2012.
Bedford, NH – A Massachusetts man in custody faces two counts of attempted murder, first degree assault and one count of aggravated felonious sexual in the November 2012 home invasion of Dr. Eduardo Quesada and his late wife, Sonia.
Bedford Police Chief John J. Bryfonski and Hillsborough County Attorney Patricia LaFrance identified the man as Charles Normil, 32, with a last known address of 328 High St., Lawrence. They said he is in custody in Massachusetts in an unrelated case.
Bryfonski and LaFrance said they know of no known connection between Normil and the Quesada family; the chief said the motive for the burglary and assault appears to be financial in nature.

Normil is also being charged with one count of falsifying physical evidence in connection with the crimes Nov. 24, 2012 at 7 Proclamation Court.
"Dr. Quesada was stabbed multiple times in the head with a screwdriver, resulting in facial fractures, lacerations and bleeding on the brain," Bryfonski and LaFrance said in a statement at a news conference. Sonia Quesada was sexually and physically assaulted multiple times, resulting in the loss of eye sight in her left eye."

A second suspect is being handled by federal prosecutors, via the office of U.S. Attorney John P. Kacavas, according to LaFrance. She said the second suspect is in custody.
"I can tell you that the public, again, is not in any danger from either Mr. Normil or the second suspect," LaFrance said.
