Nashua Apartment Fire: 2 Injured; 50 Flee
A fire broke out in Nashua at an apartment building in Railroad Square.

NASHUA, NH — A fire at a downtown Nashua apartment building Sunday night injured two and displaced 50, officials said. The fire broke out in a fourth-floor unit at The Laton House in Railroad Square at about 11 p.m., according to Nashua Deputy fire Chief Steve Buxton.
"The sprinkler system in the building was activated and held the fire in check, allowing occupants to evacuate the building," Buxton said in a statement. "A large number of occupants ignored the sounding alarms and needed to be evacuated by fire department personnel."
The cause of the fire was under investigation. The Red Cross said it was assisting those displaced.
