Nashua Fire Listed as 'Suspicious'

The Bridge Street building was already scheduled to be torn down.

A fire in an abandoned auto body garage on Saturday night is being called suspicious.

The fire broke out around 7 p.m. on Saturday in a vacant 2-1/2 story auto repair shop on Bridge Street with apartments above. Five Nashua Fire engines and two ladder trucks responded to help bring the fire under control.

The Nashua Fire Department said the fire has been listed as "suspicious." The building was already scheduled to be torn down and all utilities to the building had been shut off.

The cold weather created some icy conditions, creating a slip and fall hazard. However, no one was injured battling the blaze.

The Merrimack, Hudson, Londonderry and Tyngsborough, MA fire departments all provided station coverage.
