Nashua 'Granite Shield' Drug Sweep Nets 2

Nashua police said Edward Bigelow and Paul Fidler were arrested in the latest "Granite Hammer" drug sweep.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua police on Thursday announced officers arrested two men in the latest "Granite Shield" drug sweep. Edward Bigelow, 40, of Hollis, was charged with suboxone possession, disobeying a police officer and being a habitual offender. Paul Fidler, 53, of Somerville, Massachusetts, was charged with suboxone possession, amphetamine possession, gabapentin possession and driving after suspension.

Nashua police Lieutenant Brian Kenney said the sweep was conducted Wednesday. Bigelow refused bail and was held pending an arraignment in Nashua District Court Thursday. Fidler was released on $2,500 bail pending an arraignment July 5.

The arrests were part of an ongoing series of Nashua police drug sweeps under the "Granite Shield" program, a state-funded initiative targeting opioid distribution in communities across the state. Wednesday's sweep was the third in recent weeks.
