Pair Arrested After Fight, Rock Thrown Through Windsheld
Matthew Garcia faces a felony reckless conduct charge.
A Nashua man was charged Monday in connection to a fight Sept. 22 outside of a Hudson apartment complex that ended when a rock was thrown through a windshield, injuring a woman inside the vehicle.
According to a Hudson police narrative, at about 10:15 p.m. Sept. 22 officers responded to the Burns Hill Road apartments for a disturbance. Upon arrival it was discovered that two men had an altercation with a man and woman that were in a vehicle in the parking lot. One of the men threw a large rock through the windshield of the vehicle identified as a 2001 Volvo S40. The rock struck the woman inside the vehicle causing non-life threatening injury. The two men then fled the area prior to police arriving. They were identified by the victims as: Kurt Rowell, 28, of Hudson and Matthew Garcia, 23, of Nashua.
Warrants for felony reckless conduct were completed on both suspects.
On Monday September 23 at around 9:30 a.m. Hudson Police went to serve the warrant on Rowell when they observed a man come out of an adjacent apartment building. When the officers attempted to approach the man he fled on foot. A foot pursuit ensued and he was eventually caught in the parking of Teledyne on Lowell Road. The man was identified as Garcia and was arrested for resisting arrest or detention and the active felony warrant as well as a warrant from the Nashua Police.
Bail was set at $10,000 cash or surety. Garcia was able to make bail and will appear in the Nashua District Court at a later date.
UPDATED: SEPT. 24 AT 11:26 a.m. On Sept. 23 Rowell turned himself in on the outstanding warrant. He was able to make bail and will be arraigned in the 9 Circuit Court of Nashua at a later date.
