Nashua Mayor Joins Bloomberg Harvard Cities Leadership Initiative
Mayor Jim Donchess is one of 40 mayors accepted to the 2020-2021 program.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess will join 39 other mayors from across the country in the Bloomberg Harvard Cities Leadership Initiative, the City of Nashua announced in a release on Monday.
According to the release, participating mayors are immersed in exercises that help tackle ongoing challenges and improve the quality of life for citizens in their cities. This year, the program focuses on helping cities recover from the coronavirus pandemic.
“I am honored and excited for the chance to be a part of this wonderful program. Thank you to the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative,” Donchess said in a statement. “Mayors have a unique opportunity in front of them for collaboration and implementation of ideas with the focus of this year’s program being the recovery from COVID-19. The take away from these virtual sessions will be particularly vital to Nashua.”

According to the release, bi-monthly courses are held online through December and taught by professors and management experts from Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business School and Bloomberg Philanthropies.
Courses cover topics like social, racial and economic equity in recovering from the pandemic, budget decision-making and managing a remote workforce.
