Nashua Named a 'Top Clean City' by Motorweek
In praise of clean living in Nashua.

Nashua's use of compressed natural gas (CNG) to fuel its city fleet of vehicles has put it on the "Clean City" map by Motorweek magazine.
The success story was posted in late November, and cites the use of alternate fuel as one way of saving big, not only on fuel costs but also on maintenance costs for the 40 city vehicles currently running on CNG.
The Granite State Clean Cities Coalition and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services helped identify over $1.1 million in federal money to help fund the CNG vehicles, and Nashua's refueling depot is the state’s first public access CNG station, built through a public-private partnership with Alternative Vehicle Service Group.

It was the first such fueling station in New England.
"It’s really been very exciting for us-to be first one in New England to do something like this – do it to the degree we have ... heading in this direction has really been great for our city and we look forward to expanding it even more," said Mayor Donnalee Lozeau in the short YouTube version of the MotorWeek story.

As noted in the narrative of the video, Nashua’s transit buses run on B20 biodiesel, but the city plans a CNG switch soon.
