NASHUA, NH — The parent company for the new combined Papa Gino's Pizzeria and D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches restaurant in Hudson has donated all of the establishment's opening-day proceeds to a Nashua-based charity helping the homeless and food insecure.

New England Authentic Eats LLC on Thursday donated a check for $2,100.39 to Corpus Christi Food Pantry and Assistance, a nonprofit located at 3 Crown St. in Nashua.

Representatives from Corpus Cristi said the funds will be used to support the organization's food pantry — specifically to purchase eggs, butter and milk — and its assistance program, which helps to fund basic needs for those facing homelessness.

"As our neighbors struggle to make ends meet and consistently get food on their plates, this donation helps us to support those in dire need of assistance," said Maryellen Keigher, food pantry director at Corpus Christi Food Pantry and Assistance.

Keigher continued: "Far too many local families are living paycheck to paycheck, and we are doing everything we can to ease their burden through food assistance, emergency funding and community resources. This generous donation from Papa Gino's and D'Angelo will go a long way to help those most in need and fend off hunger and homelessness in our community."

Papa Gino's already was located at 77 Derry Rd. in Hudson when it added D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches under the same roof. The opening day for the combined restaurant was Oct. 17, and it marked the return of D'Angelo to Hudson after 12 years.

"It's an honor to bring these two neighborhood favorites together in Hudson, a community we've been lucky enough to serve for over two decades,” said Deena McKinley, chief experience officer at New England Authentic Eats. "We look forward to our guests joining us in welcoming D'Angelo back to the neighborhood alongside the Papa Gino’s they've enjoyed since 1998."

McKinley continued: We're always looking for opportunities to make a real, positive impact for our communities, and we're grateful to be able to give back to Corpus Christi, an indispensable community organization working to serve those most in need in this neighborhood."
