Nashua Police And Fire Investigating 3 Vehicles Damaged By Fire

Crews arrived to vehicles engulfed in fire in a parking lot behind a West Hollis St. business. A Molotov Cocktail was possibly involved.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua firefighters and police are investigating a fire involving three vehicles in a West Hollis Street parking lot that occurred Wednesday.

Firefighters were dispatched for a report of multiple vehicles on fire in the area of West Hollis and Vine streets. The responding deputy chief reported the fire was visible while en route. On arrival, they located the fire behind 66 West Hollis St. at about 7:50 p.m.

Nashua police closed West Hollis Street at Vine so that Nashua Fire Rescue could set up water supplies from hydrants in the area, and stretched hose lines to begin to suppress the fire. Two passenger cars were heavily engulfed, and a pick-up truck was damaged from the intense fire.

The fire was knocked down quickly, and crews pulled the vehicles apart to extinguish the fire fully.

A possible Molotov cocktail was thrown at a vehicle in Nashua, police said, and a camera captured the incident.

At the scene, several people from a local barbershop said that their video cameras showed someone approaching from behind a fence with an item on fire. According to the people at the business, the item was thrown through the back window of one of the cars, and it burst into flames.

Nashua Police and the Nashua Fire Marshals Office are actively investigating the fire, which appears to be suspicious. At the scene several video cameras can be seen mounted to buildings surrounding the parking lot.

No people were inside any of the cars, and there were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.
