Man Found Deceased From Apparent Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound: Update

NASHUA, NH — Nashua Police received a call from a family member of a man at 5 Bellcrest Road Wednesday saying he was making suicidal statements.

The family members arrived at the address before the police and heard multiple shots fired from inside the house. Police arrived, set up a perimeter around the house, and attempted to communicate with the man. AMR ambulance and Nashua Fire Rescue staged in the area of the incident while police secured the scene.

A shelter-in-place order was issued for the residential area off West Hollis Street. People coming home to the neighborhood were turned away, and several of them watched from the area.

After exhausting all means to contact the involved, members of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Unit deployed a drone into the residence and confirmed the residence was occupied by only a deceased 37-year-old man who appeared to have a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound.

There were no other injuries reported as a result of this incident and we thank the public for their cooperation and understanding during these difficult incidents.
