Neighbor of Slain Couple Found Dead in Next-Door Apartment
Possible new development in Newbury Street homicides.
There may be a new development in the investigation involving a Crown Hill couple found stabbed to death June 17.
According to the Nashua Telegraph, the body of a man identified as Shawn Burne was carried from the multi-family home located just next-door to where William and Eleanor Grant lived. The Telegraph reported that the man who was found inside an apartment Wednesday may have been under police surveillance.
On Friday, Nashua Police Lt. Michael Moushegian referred questions to Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley, who is handing the double homicide investigation.
Hinckley on Friday said he would not confirm the information reported by the Telegraph, and had no comment about the report, except to say that he was aware of the death of the man on Wednesday, and that it was not a homicide.
"We are investigating a double homicide and that investigation is ongoing," Hinckley said Friday morning.
Last week neighbors told Nashua Patch that they were well aware of the round-the-clock police presence in the neighborhood, including police cruisers and unmarked vehicles.
Police also conducted a 9-hour search in a wooded area near a pond on Ingalls Street, using the police dive team, and a "honeysucker" vacuum truck spent several days making the rounds with a police escort, checking sewer drains, neighbors said.
