Pedestrian Struck by Police Cruiser

The pedestrian suffered only minor injuries.

A pedestrian suffered minor injury when he was hit by a Nashua Police cruiser on Monday night.

Nashua Police Lt. E.Z. Paulson said a cruiser was driving on Kinsley Street toward Main Street around 10:30 p.m. when a pedestrian in dark clothing "jumped out into the street." The officer saw the pedestrian at the last minute and swerved, but clipped the man with the passenger side mirror.

"He failed to yield the right of way," Paulson said of the pedestrian. "There was certainly no wrongdoing on the officer's part."

The pedestrian, described only as an adult male, was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released.
