Police: Body Found in River Was Suicide Victim

Nashua Police say they have determined that the body of a man discovered Wednesday floating in the Merrimack River was that of a 62-year-old Hudson man. His death was ruled a suicide by drowning.

Rescuers were called to the river bank July 17 at approximately 2:44 pm. after a fisherman discovered the body a short distance from the Sagamore Bridge and pulled it to shore.

The Nashua Fire Department assisted with the recovery of the body. The NH Medical Examiner’s office conducted an on-scene investigation and a subsequent autopsy. It was determined that the manner and cause of death was suicide by drowning.
