'Project Search' Graduates Seven

Plus Company is looking to partner with local companies to place their graduates.

Project SEARCH at St. Joseph Hospital recently graduated seven interns, after a training program that lasts school year.

The school-to-work program, operated by The PLUS Company for students with cognitive and physical disabilities,  provides real-life work experience combined with training in employability and independent living skills. Internship rotations allow the students to learn more about a particular job while working on communication and problem solving skills.

The rotations provide the interns the opportunity to receive training and skills necessary to become gainfully employed upon completion of the program. Project SEARCH is a collaborative effort made up of representatives from Gateways Community Services, Nashua School District, New Hampshire Vocational Rehabilitation, PLUS and a Business Advisory Board. Several of the graduates also received their high school diplomas at the ceremony.
