Body Removed From Chestnut Street Apartment
A woman found dead inside her apartment had not been seen by neighbors since July 4.

Nashua Police confirmed that they are investigating the death of a woman found inside an apartment at 32 Chestnut Street on July 20.
"We received a call at about 4 p.m. for a wellness check and did remove the body of a deceased female from 32 Chestnut St.," said Nashua Police Lt. Michael Moushegian. "The Attorney General's office is assisting us with that investigation.
Moushegian referred questions to Assistant Attorney General Janice K. Rundles. As of 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, no formal press release had been issued on the investigation.
Late Saturday, neighbors lingered outside on Chestnut Street in the balmy summer night, waiting for word on what might have happened to the woman, found dead.
WMUR reports that after neighbors complained of a strong odor coming from the building, the landlord called police to do a welfare check. They report that the landlord decided to enter the apartment herself while waiting for police, where she found the tenant, a woman in her mid-40s, on the floor of the bathroom, wrapped in a shower curtain.
Moushegian would not comment on that account of the situation.By 10 p.m. a single police car with one officer remained posted outside the brick apartment building, which was also secured with yellow police tape.
"The Haz-Mat team took her out a few hours ago," said neighbor Chuck Hatfield. "This is just rumor, but I heard she was pretty badly decomposed."
Hatfield, who lives a few doors down, said the mounting body count is a concern, of late in Nashua. He said his three pit bulls are the reason his kids can sleep safely at night.
"They're the nicest dogs in the world, but they keep people away, and that's how my kids sleep safe at night in this city," he said.
Another neighbor, who did not want to give his name but who said he has lived on Chestnut Street for 49 years, wondered what was going on in his city.
He suspects foul play.
"This is the eighth body so far this year," he said.
We'll update you as soon as we have more information from the Attorney General.
