Fisherman Pulls Dead Body From Merrimack River
Police are investigating the identity of the man who was pulled from the river Wednesday.
Several police and fire personnel were on the scene of a report of a body in the Merrimack River Wednesday afternoon, near the Sagamore Bridge.
According to New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol, a fisherman called 911 to report he recoved a body floating in the river in the area of the Sagamore Bridge at about 3:20 p.m.
Nashua Police Lt. Michael Moushegian confirmed that the body was of a white adult male.
Matt Melanson, who works at Ashbrook Furniture, not far from a foot path that leads down to the river bank, said he was down near the river bank when the police arrived.
"They said they found a body in the water," Melanson said [see video].
Several emergency vehicles were parked along the on-ramp for Route 3A toward Hudson.
Nashua Police Department will be investigating with the assistance of the Marine Patrol.
