Smoke Alarms Alert Occupants Of Fire In The Basement Of Nashua Home
Nashua Firefighters arrived to smoke coming from the house on Divinity Cir. One man was hospitalized with burns and smoke inhalation.
NASHUA, NH - Nashua Fire Rescue responded to a call for alarms going off at 4 Divinity Circle Sunday.
Upon arrival, at about 6:15 a.m. Nashua firefighters on Engine 5 reported smoke from a 2.5-story single-family residence and requested additional resources.
Crews located a basement fire, and stretched hose lines to extinguish the fire in the basement while other firefighters worked to prevent the fire from extending to the first and second floor of the house.

Crews completed primary searches on all floors after the main body of fire was knocked down. Crews checked for extension and determined the fire was contained in the basement. The call was placed under control, and the companies finished overhauling their operations.
According to Nashua Deputy Chief Michael Curran, the structure sustained heavy fire damage in the basement and smoke damage throughout the building.

Four engines, two ladder trucks, and two AMR ambulances responded to the incident, with twenty-six firefighters working at the fire scene. Tyngsboro Fire Department provided one engine for station coverage for Nashua.
Smoke detectors alerted the occupants of the fire, which allowed them to escape. One adult man was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital with burns and smoke inhalation, and he is expected to recover. The two residents of the house will not be able to reoccupy the residence until extensive repairs are made.
