Storm, Lightning Knock Out Power in Nashua

Fast-moving storm zapped Nashua on its way through the state.

A fast and furious storm knocked out power to about 9,000 PSNH customers just before 4 p.m.

"A front with lightning moved through," said PSNH spokesman Martin Murray.

Crews were dispatched quickly and have already begun to restore power. Murray said he heard a report of a tree causing downed wires in Nashua, but said that the number of customers affected is already dwindling.

Just after 5 p.m. there were still 6,713 customers in Nashua listed as without power, according to the PSNH outage map.

Other towns affected include Bedford, Amherst, Merrimack, Hollis, Hudson, Brookline and Litchfield.

"We encourage anyone without power to make sure they call and report the outage," Murray said.

The number to call is 1-800-662-7764.
