Salem Man the Youngest Named to 40 Under Forty List

Salem State Rep. and University of New Hampshire student Joe Sweeney has been named to the 13th annual 40 Under Forty listing of people making the Granite State a better place to live, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.

Sweeney, 20, is the Union Leader's youngest 2013 honoree and was chosen in part for his efforts to put the Granite State "in the best position to spur growth and expand the economic objectives of the state," according to the paper.

The newspaper collects nominations online from residents, co-workers, and family members of people who are under 40 and contributors to their communities. Judges then look over the nominations and put together the listing.

The group will be feted in March at the Grappone Conference Center.
