Asbury Park Man Charged With Fatal Stabbing In Paterson

The Asbury Park man is charged with first-degree murder for stabbing a man on the sidewalk Oct. 22, killing him.

PATERSON, NJ — An Asbury Park man is charged with fatally stabbing a man in Paterson on Oct. 22, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor.

Jean Romelus, 29, is charged with first-degree murder and illegal weapons offenses, for the fatal stabbing police say he committed at 2:21 p.m. on that date in the area of Market Street and Veterans Place in Paterson.

Paterson Police arrived to find the victim, William Davis, 38, of Paterson, lying on the sidewalk with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center where he died.

Romelus was arrested without incident Tuesday.
