Woman Seeks Missing Kitten In Asbury Park

A five-month-old kitten is missing from a home on Mattison Avenue, just west of the NJ Transit train station and the police station.

ASBURY PARK, NJ — A five-month-old kitten has gone missing from a home on Mattison Avenue in Asbury Park, just west of the NJ Transit train station and the police station.

"Five weeks ago, my 5.5-month-old foster kitten, Norman, accidentally got past me as I left my home without realizing it," said his owner, Jenny Olsen. "Norman was rescued as a two-week--old kitten whom we bottle fed until he could eat on his own. A special little guy who'd never been outside. We are devastated."

Olsen asks that anyone who finds the kitten, please contact her immediately. Her phone number is 347-301-8094, and email is jennyolsenmccabe@gmail.com. They are also offering a reward.

"We think he stayed local if he is outside," she said. "Honestly, even if he passed away I just need to know. We won't stop looking for Norman until we have closure."

She did thank the "amazing" Asbury Park community for helping her try to find Norman in the past five weeks.

"I want to commend the Asbury Park community (along with Ocean Grove, Bradley and Neptune. The support we received from our immediate neighbors, our neighbors farther away, small business and restaurant owners, the online community, etc. has been astounding and heartwarming to say the very least. Even though we haven't found Norman yet, the support of this community — the support from people from ALL walks of life — has been one of the most comforting and beautiful experiences I've ever had."

He does not have a chip. They had an appointment scheduled to neuter and chip Norman the week after he ran away.
