'Adopt-A-Street' Program In Barnegat Organizes Fall Cleanup

Barnegat's "Adopt-A-Street" program has organized a townwide cleanup on Saturday, Oct. 9.

BARNEGAT, NJ — The “Adopt-A-Street” program in Barnegat has organized a townwide cleanup on Saturday, Oct. 9.

Participants who need cleanup supplies and an assigned street should come to the Lillian M. Dunfee School at 10:30 a.m.

Forms for new participants will be available at the school or can be printed out here. Students can also bring their community service hours forms with them that morning to get signed.

The program enables students and residents to actively participate in enhancing the overall appearance of Barnegat streets by hosting two townwide cleanups each year.

However, new members don't need to wait until the cleanups to get involved with the program. Volunteers can adopt streets at any time and keep them clean throughout the year.

Barnegat streets have been adopted by a variety of organizations, including scout troops, church groups and softball teams.
