Barnegat Pedestrian Struck, In Critical Condition: Police
A 55-year-old Barnegat man remains in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle on Barnegat Boulevard Tuesday night, police said.
BARNEGAT, NJ — A 55-year-old Barnegat man remains in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle on Barnegat Boulevard Tuesday night, police said.
Barnegat police received a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the northbound lanes of Barnegat Boulevard near Rose Hill Road just before 9 p.m., Captain Jason Carroll told Patch.
An investigation found that a 55-year-old pedestrian from Barnegat was struck by a 2014 Hyundai driven by a 22-year-old Barnegat man south of the Rose Hill Road intersection, Carroll said.

The pedestrian suffered significant injuries and was flown out via Medevac. He was taken to Atlantic City Trauma Center where he remains in critical condition, according to Carroll.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

As of Wednesday, no charges have been filed and the accident remains under investigation by the Barnegat Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit.
