Barnegat Police Looking For Honda Pilot Involved In Shooting

The victim, a 26-year-old Ocean Gate man, does not want to cooperate with police.

BARNEGAT, NJ - Barnegat police are looking for a 2006 Honda Pilot believed to be connected to a shooting on Lexington Boulevard on Monday evening, according to the department's Facebook page.

Police received a report of gunshots in the area at 7:32 p.m. on May 7. They found no activity or a victim in the area when they arrived, but were able to determine that someone had been injured at the location, the post states.

Stafford Township police later told Barnegat officers that a 26-year-old Ocean Gate man was located at Southern Ocean Medical Center with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

Barnegat detectives determined that the man had been shot on Lexington Blvd.

"At this time, the victim does not wish to cooperate with authorities," the Facebook post states.

Police are looking for a 2006 black Honda Pilot bearing NJ registration X88JRM. Investigators are examining additional video that has been recovered.
