'Carve Wars' Coming to Tuckerton Seaport This Weekend

The two-day event features well-known carvers from around the area, items will be auctioned off on Sunday

TUCKERTON, NJ - If you're one of the first 2,000 people to buy a ticket to the Tuckerton Seaport's "Carve Wars" on Saturday and Sunday, you could win that cute little bear with the welcome sign in the photo.

The event will run 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days and will feature well-known carvers from New Jersey, Colorado and Pennsylvania, along with decoy carvers, blacksmithing and boat building demonstrations. Admission is $10 for both days. It's $5 for Seaport members. Children under 5 are admitted for free.

Visitors can watch the carvers transform giant logs into works of art. All of the items carved at the event will be auctioned off on Sunday..

Food trucks and craft beer will be available. Music will be provided by Gary Phillips on Saturday and Nectar and Ambrosia on Sunday.

Some of the featured carvers include Joe Wenal, who grew up in Cedar Run and now lives in Colorado; Joe Srholez, who also lives in Colorado and owns the Sweetwater Trading Post, which you can see on Facebook; Wyatt Harrison, who lives in New Jersey and owns WJH Chainsaw Carving; Brian Ackmonster Ackley New Jersey, who owns Ackmonsters Chainsaw Art; and Tom Ceriani, who lives in Pennsylvania and owns T and D Carvings.
